For some time now I have been exclusively using Markbass amplification. I have no hesitation in saying that Markbass make the very best bass amps that I have ever heard. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Marco de Virgiliis, Peter Murray and everyone at Markbass, plus Paolo Burocchi at Proel International, who together have helped me achieve the sound I have been seeking for the last 30 years or so! Back in 2002 a friend of mine loaned me this blue Lākland Joe Osborne Signature bass. I liked it so much that I used it on part of the Concert For George at The Royal Albert Hall, after which I persuaded the owner to part with it, as I could not put it down! Since then I have expanded my collection of Lākland basses to 3. I would like to sincerely thank Dan Lakin and all at Lākland in Chicago for their help and support, and for their very fine instruments which combine classic features with superb build quality and first class materials.

Acoustic bass guitars are notoriously tricky beasts. It is not easy to obtain the combination of sound and playability that is required in a professional situation. However, my Fylde Magician bass manages to tick all the boxes with ease, and in addition boasts a level of craftsmanship that is simply stunning. My thanks go to Roger Bucknall at Fylde Guitars for creating a bass that is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the ear.
